WIDOWS, ORPHANS & DISABLED FIREMEN'S FUND
Date

In August of 2009, as the Station fire blazed through Los Angeles, consuming thousands of acres in its path, brave firefighters of the Los Angeles Fire Department tirelessly fought to keep local homes and families safe. Risking their own lives to save others, we witnessed the unfortunate passing of Captain Tedmund Hall and firefighter Specialist Arnaldo Quinones. Quinones' wife was expecting and due to give birth to their first child in the next few weeks after her husband's passing. Hall and his wife have two boys, ages 20 and 21, and was described as a family-oriented man who loved riding motorcycles.

In an effort to show appreciation for the selfless work of these two men, SYP chose to donate the proceeds of our Poker Night to The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen's Fund, which benefits all members of the "Fire Department Family" - active, retired, widows, and survivors. This fund provides assistance to our many firefighters and families who are faced with personal difficulties and tragedies and gives them comfort of knowing that the "Fire Department Family", supported by the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen's Fund is there for them in times of need.
