On September 18, 2006, the Poker Night event raised $6,000 for the
Maple Counseling Center,
a private, non-profit community mental health center that serves Beverly
Hills and the surrounding communities. The Center’s mission is to provide
low cost psychological counseling for people in need. Mental health counseling
is offered to individuals, couples, families and groups from infants to
seniors. The Center serves as a resource for mental health education, prevention,
and intervention as well as crisis support. No one is turned away for lack
of funds.
The Center is also a highly regarded training center for interns and counselors
who are working toward licenses in social work, marriage and family therapy
and pre-and post-doctoral candidates in Southern California.
