The Society of Young Philanthropists hosted a charity art exhibition featuring
the work of new and emerging artists from Southern California and Claremont
Graduate University. $1,250 was generated from art sales and donated to
Learning for Life, an LA based program educating inner city students about
higher learning and professional career paths. Guests at the event enjoyed
an assortment of international cheeses from the Cheese Store of Beverly
Hills and an open wine bar. DJ My DJ provided music all night long.

The Society of Young Philanthropists hosted our first mixer of the new year
and named Life Rolls On the beneficiary of the evening. This cocktail reception,
held at Parc Hollywood, welcomed some of LA's most influential young professionals
at one of LA's most exclusive clubs and over three hundred supporters attended.
LRO Ambassadors Jesse Billauer and Xavier Horan attended the event as did
LRO Executive Director Kris Nakamura and LRO Program Director Seth Rosenzweig.
LRO received 10% of the bar proceeds from the evening.

Over 150 guests, including Mayor of Beverly Hills Steve
Webb, attended The Society of Young Philanthropists'
(SYP) charity POKER NIGHT on September 17, 2006 at the
Friars of Beverly Hills. The event raised at least
(exact number TBC) $5,000 for the Maple
Counseling Center, a resource for mental health
education, prevention, and intervention as well as crisis
support.
There were 80 players registered for the tournament,
with the top 8 winning prizes. Prizes included a diamond
studded watch, 2 nights at Hotel Angeleno, a Philips
Home Entertainment package, $250 at Bodega restaurant
and bar, 12 cases of Karl Strauss beer, a clay chip
poker set, and gifts and apparel from Hollywood Park
Casino. The tournament was managed by Motion Poker
Tournament.
Guests enjoyed appetizers, jazz music by The Peter Harris
Trio, cash bar and were able to mingle with a diverse
group of philanthropists, at the cross-generational
event.

600 guests attended The Society of Young Philanthropists'
(SYP) second annual gala on May 13, 2006 at Vibiana
Place in Downtown Los Angeles. The event surpassed it's
fundraising goal of $45,000 for victims of the Darfur
genocide. The evening included a fashion show featuring
fashions from Robertson Blvd. boutiques Diavolina, Horn,
Madison and Sielian's Vintage Apparel. Gift bags included
donations from Junkfood Clothing, Chocolate Sun Tanning,
Corazon Tequila, and Smashbox Cosmetics.

The Philanthroshop event on Sunday, September 11th was
a great success, with over 500 people shopping for denim,
tops, knits, jewelry and other accessories. Vendors
donated 10% of their proceeds to the OneFamily Fund,
helping victims of terrorism. $6,000 total was raised
for charity, with $2,000 supporting SYP and $4,000 total
donated to OneFamily!
Our generous vendors included: Biatta Intimates, Hebrew
School Dropout, Jinous Designs, Junkfood T-Shirts, Nana
Bijou Design, Stay True Clothing, Treesje, Coffee Bean
& Tea Leaf, High end denims and knits, Joyaan, Michele
Morrow, Rapz, Tatum D, T-Bags.

In addition, cookies were sold
for a minimum donation of $1, with proceeds going
to Hurricane Katrina victims, via (drumroll) SYP
in Dallas! All of the money went to help disaster
victims who are refugees in the area therein.

SYP launched their new organization Saturday, May 14,
2005 at a private estate in Beverly Hills, raising more
than $40,000 in ticket sales (after expenses) and up
to an additional $30,000 in sponsorships and donations.
Proceeds from ticket and raffle sales were donated to
three Jewish causes related to disaster relief (IMA
Foundation), education (Magbit Foundation) and rehabilitation
(Beit T'Shuvah) in celebration of Israel's Independence
Day. Guests were able to direct their ticket donation
to any one cause or to have it split evenly among all
three.
Four-hundred and seventy-five young professionals between
21 and 40, enjoyed passed appetizers, hand-rolled sushi,
and various dinner and dessert stations courtesy of
Catering by Field, as well as an open bar.
The evening kicked off with Latin beats from The Gypsy
Boys, a Los Angeles-based group. The main bar and bungalow
area was opened with a performance by local indie-rock
band, Paramount. A DJ spun hip-hop and dance beats until
5AM. Guests went home with gift bags including, two
Paramount CDs, a "Chosen" bracelet from kewlju.com
and Roxtar designed "We Like 'Em Young" t-shirts
bearing SYP's name and URL.
